Ding Dong the Witch is Dead ...

... by witch, I mean Rumsfeld. Usually, I don't mix politics and knitting (those sharp instruments in the hands of, say, a rabid Democrat such as myself, may be dangerous -- although, some of my best friends are elephants), but I am so happy that scary man has stepped down.

I grew up in the Vietnam era and faced both brothers going off to war, my husband is also a Vietnam vet, and I just can't support a similar war. We'll never win. Never. And I don't want anymore lives to be lost.

Enough said, for that unpaid political announcement.

Here we have --- something warm! These are loosely based on the armwarmers in "Holiday Knitting" (someday I'll be able to figure out how to place a link in my posts), except I knit an actually thumb, instead of just an opening. It's a spiral rib pattern which looks even better in person, and Paton's SWS yarn -- 80% wool, 20% soy. So, for all of us vegetarians, if we get lost in a snow drift, we can always eat our mittens!

Size 6 needles; 32 stitches. Warm as toasted tofu!

The colors are much prettier than shown here -- more pinks and muted greens/browns. I still have at least 1/3 of a skein left, and will be making more as Xmas gifts.

And as for the folks at the White House, who's next?

I'm right with you. I was up until 3:30 watching MSNBC and all the returns. When I woke up this morning and the husband told me that MT hadn't been called yet, I nearly died.

And just yesterday, Bush said that no matter what the outcome of the elections, Cheney and Rumsfeld will be with him as long as he's president. Then they lose a couple of elections and poof! he's gone.

Love the wrist warmers.

Technical tip: When you're writing your post and you type: "based on the armwarmers. . ." and you want "armwarmers" to be linked to http://www.thatwebsite.com highlight armwarmers and then right on top of the compose window there's a button with a green ball (it's a world) with glasses perched on it's head (it's a chain link) press that button (4th from the left) and there will be a pop up window. Type in the url you want to link to and then press OK. Voila you have a link.

Ding dong, indeed! That was a long time coming wasn't it? But then we were watiing for the Bush administration to figure out that getting rid of Rumsfeld just might be a good idea. And figuring things out is not exactly jr's strong point, now is it? Do you listen to Stephanie Miller on AM radio? She has been hysterical on Rumsfeld and the election

But I digress. I was writing because you commented on my EZ sweater over at the Zimmermania blog. Thanks for admiring! =) I also noticed that you are a family law attorney in NY. I am the same in Albuquerque, NM. Let's talk! DO you do adoptions, too?
